Eugene Oregon Cake Smash Photographer: First Birthday Milestone with Asher!

Asher’s one year milestone session with cake smash was super sweet, a little messy, and full of joy—just the way a first birthday should be! I absolutely loved spending time with this little guy in my Eugene Oregon photo studio as I captured these fun memories for him and his parents (Neva and Shayne).

I always like to set aside a few minutes to get some milestone and family photos before we do the cake smash. This gives families some variety in the pictures they get from their session, and is a great way to update your wall art or family album at the same time you document your little one’s growth.

All Aboard the Cuteness Express

Asher was seriously the cutest birthday boy and absolutely rocked his dapper little outfit. (That flat cap—could it get any better?) He stole the show with his sweet smile, incredible sense of style, and hilarious personality. My little red wagon prop seemed like the perfect way to highlight the vintage vibes we were going for and add a pop of playful color for our celebration.

Family Love at Its Finest

After we captured our baby-only portraits, it was so fun to watch Asher and his parents play and cuddle together—and to capture those natural, candid expressions of love. Asher had a great time at the studio, not least because he was surrounded by warmth, laughter, and endless snuggles with Mom and Dad. These moments of connection are so precious and they’re what make family portraits so special and meaningful!

First Birthday Cake Smash

We finished up our milestone session with the moment we’d all been waiting for—the cake smash! Asher loved his cake and ended up diving into it face-first. These little moments of personality and playfulness are the best part of toddler milestones!
