Exciting news from the studio today: I’ve decided to start offering high school senior photos!

I’ve been hearing from several people that there is a need for a fine art studio senior photographer in the Eugene/Springfield area. Most others who do senior photography take the traditional senior photos outdoors and while I will also offer those types of sessions my primary focus is studio portraiture.

My goal is to be the go-to studio photographer for fine art portraits of all kinds! I started out with newborn, maternity, and family photography, and more recently expanded to include motherhood and milestone portraits, so adding seniors feels like a natural and fun transition for me, and to serve even more wonderful people in our community! They say a picture is worth a thousand words—an idea I am totally behind!—so I thought I would share some shots from a couple of recent senior sessions to give you a better idea of what you can expect from senior portraits at my Eugene, Oregon photo studio.

Abby was referred to me through another client. I loved meeting her and she was so fun to work with!

I've known Presley for several years and she is awesome! Fun fact: Her mom was my girls' first grade teacher. :)

I feel like outfits do a lot to help convey someone’s personality and vibe, which is why I decided that senior sessions should include access to my client closet. I’m hoping this will allow teens to mix and match favorite outfits from home with some choices from the studio so they can have several different ‘looks’ in their photo collection.

I love all the different vibes from Abby and Presley’s choices, from cute and casual to super elegant. They looked great in everything and rocked their sessions!

I also include professional hair and makeup services for those who would like them. Some kids love to do their own makeup and for some it’s a chore, so I wanted to make sure they had the option for someone else to take care of it if that’s easier and would make their session more relaxed and fun.

As a studio photographer I’m all about lighting, and for Presley and Abby’s photoshoots I played with some colored gels in some of our shots. This made for such a fun lighting effect!

I was so excited to help both of these beautiful young women capture this important milestone in their lives! I had tons of fun doing their portraits and I hope they did too. Graduating from high school is a big achievement and I can’t wait to see where life takes them next.
